May 26, 2011- Michael A. Arthur, professor of geosciences and co-director of the Marcellus Center for Outreach and Research (MCOR), discussed the economic viability of drilling the Utica in Pennsylvania and the Appalachian Basin. He also addressed how portions of the Utica may be more productive than other areas based on thermal maturity data.

Duncan, president, MicroSeismic, Inc., describes the company’s innovative technology for listening for underground activity as drillers bore into oil and gas formations or conduct hydraulic fracturing jobs. The technology offers a detailed view before, during and after the drilling process.
Tuesday, April 18, 2011 - Quay Schappell, director, Business Development Unit with TARM, describes the company’s process for treatomg flowback and produced waters on a commercial scale so that they can reused for subsequent hydraulic fracturing treatments.
March 21, 2011 - Kathy Brasier is an assistant professor of rural sociology in the College of Agricultural Sciences. In this video, she describes ongoing research using multiple data sources on the relationship between risk perception and institutional trust in Marcellus Shale communities. She also describes implications for understanding the roots of conflict-laden discourse.
